New Hoffer Estates community to feature 6 of builder’s most popular floor plans
When Kenneth Homes begins construction in the new Hoffer Estates community in Elizabethtown this summer, it will mark the perfect marriage of successful home design and convenient location.
“It is a recipe for a lot of happy customers,” says Brian Gavin, general manager of Kenneth Homes.
Hoffer Estates, a community of 53 traditional-style single-family homes, will sit off Campus Road, just minutes from Route 283, making it an easy commute to downtown Lancaster, Harrisburg and Hershey. With its picturesque farmland views, however, the community will feel far more secluded than it really is.
As for the homes, Hoffer Estates marks the first time in Kenneth Homes’ nearly decade-long history that it will be the exclusive builder in a community.
“We have built more than 160 homes in 12 different communities,” Gavin says, “but this will be special.”
Part of Kenneth Homes’ success comes from its strong relationship with customers. Owner Ken Carper Jr. enjoys working personally with buyers, and that personal touch means he is constantly tweaking floor plans to meet the needs and desires of the people who will live in his homes.
“Hoffer Estates will feature six basic floor plans, that have all been popular in other communities,” Gavin says. “We like to think that we have perfected these plans and given people what they really want.”
Knowing not everyone’s likes are the same, Kenneth Homes strives to offer something for everybody. So among those six plans at Hoffer Estates you’ll find one-story ranch-style homes, traditional two-story homes and two-story homes with first-floor master suites.
Prices start at $264,900.
Homes will range in size from 1,642 to 2,714 square feet. All will have a number of standard features, including stone and cedar impressions on the exterior, poured concrete foundations, double-hung tilt-in windows, a lifetime warranty on roof shingles, two-car garages, upgraded GE Slate appliances, over-the-range microwaves, garbage disposals, two-toned paint, raised-panel doors and oil-rubbed bronze fixtures.
“We’re known for giving buyers more amenities in our standard home,” Gavin says. “Some other builders like to charge extra for every little thing.”
The plans may be familiar but every community is unique. Hoffer Estates will be a welcoming neighborhood, with sidewalks, gentle slopes, home sites of varying sizes and planned open spaces.
Kenneth Homes expects to begin taking lot reservations for the first phase of 29 homes in May. Once construction begins, the company will continue its tradition of having several different homes in the community for prospective buyers to tour.
And although Kenneth Homes is offering a selection of tried-and-true floor plans, they are happy to customize them to suit their clients’ tastes.
“We’ll pretty much let people do what they want, as long as it fits on the lot and does not impact negatively on their neighbors,” Gavin says. “We enjoy helping people accomplish their goals and dreams in housing. For us it really is a labor of love.”
