New E. Hempfield neighborhood close to park, necessities and downtown
When it comes to choosing the Wilson Place neighborhood in East Hempfield Township, it’s all about lifestyle.
The new enclave of 12 detached homes, adjacent to the Wheatland Hills community, is close to everywhere you want to be.
Wheatland Hills Community Park includes a playground, pavilion and trails along the Little Conestoga Creek. Restaurants, shopping, groceries, banking and health facilities are also within a short walking distance.
And downtown Lancaster, with its vibrant arts and theater community, fine dining and local breweries, is only minutes away.
Wilson Place is developed by Millfield Construction Company, developers of many distinguished neighborhoods in southcentral Pennsylvania since 1987, including River Bend Park, Regent’s Park, Arbors at Spring Valley and Brighton in Lancaster County.
The homes in Wilson Place are designed to fit personal and family needs, from single-story ranch homes for empty-nesters to two-stories perfect for multigenerational families.
“My wife and I recently moved to Wilson Place,” says new resident Scott Fremont. “We were tired of the big house with pool and looking for a home that was close to the city and all the associated amenities.
“Wilson Place meets all of those needs. We love walking our dog around the neighborhood and sitting on our beautiful screen porch in the evenings. We’re five to ten minutes from nearly everything we need,” he says. “We could not be happier with the quality of our home. Millfield Construction created a wonderful design, and we were able to make a few adjustments to the plan to better suit our needs.”
Wilson Place offers a number of one and two-story floor plans, including some with first-floor living, as well as, the option of developing a custom plan with Millfield’s in-house design team. All homes have a two-car garage and optional Superior Wall basement. Granite kitchen countertops are currently included in the base price, along with a full landscaping and seeding package.
Current floor plans range in size from about 1,530 square feet to over 2,700 square feet. Prices start in the mid-$200s and can reach the mid- to upper $300s depending on the size of the home and the features selected.
Two of the 12 homes at Wilson Place have already been sold. Eight lots still remain for buyers who want to build from scratch. Those who want to start enjoying the Wilson Place lifestyle sooner can choose from two additional homes currently under construction. Both are scheduled for completion this summer.
The first, an Orchid floor plan at 1620 Wilson Ave., is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom ranch with a large front porch for relaxing in the evenings and a composite deck with aluminum railing.
The Orchid features white-painted maple cabinets, an island and granite countertops in the kitchen; hardwood flooring in the living room, kitchen, dining room and hall to the bedrooms; 11-foot ceiling in the living room; and a unique archway feature between the living room and kitchen.
The home is built on a 5-foot-high crawl space which can be used for storage and an oversized two-car garage with a storage room and space for a workshop.
At 1,530 square feet, the Orchid is priced at $289,047.
The second home, a Rosemary floor plan at 1630 Wilson Ave., is a two-story with five bedrooms, two-and-a-half baths, a study, large family room and formal dining room.
The exterior features attractive landscaping, a brick patio in the rear and an oversized side-load garage with workshop area.
The kitchen includes white, soft-close cabinets, granite countertops and a large eat-at island. The home also has a full Superior Wall basement.
At 2,680 square feet, the Rosemary is priced at $355,130.
The Wilson Place community is designed with ample separation between homes to offer privacy and space for a playset, garden and flower beds.
Wilson Place is not a part of the Wheatland Hills association; however, its homes are subject to their own “common sense” property guidelines.
Wilson Place is located in the Hempfield School District.
The neighborhood’s first “under construction” open house will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19. Additional showings are by appointment.
